I am really concerned about caseys numbers on itunes. His song is so low and his cd is not high. It should be doing better. And almost another week before shows kick in again in full force. Another reason why iTunes positions are meaningless on the Country genre , Casey's album position with other Country albums , and Carrie' Play On album was charting on the top50 the whole last week and only sold 3k , it shows how iTunes little contribution to the over all sales and how physical CDs still controlling market ; without knowing Casey's position on sales at Walmart / Target and other physical retailers , you can not predict the sales .

I hope your right. I am more concerned about the LDCIAN then the album because I doubt they shipped any or little copies as physcial cds. Those numbers are mostly digital sales. New artist dustin Lynch was ble to keep his position as well as Jana Kramer. Maybe its because Caseys sales were more front loadd because he is known.

Shipments are determined by retailers and not how they think it's going to move in the future . LDCIAN degital sales doesn't have anything to do with the album sales physically or digitally . LDCIAN is in the 400s , that's ~6k weekly , it's the average of the song has been selling recently ( since it made top30 ) , that's aint tanking by any means .

I didnt mean the single was tied to album sales. I just meant single sales are mostly digital.

Jana Kramer has a twitter following of over 104,000. Her facebook page has over 30,000 likes and updates there get likes in the neighborhood of 300-500. That's not counting the people who keep track of her through One Tree Hill forums/groups/sites. She has, as best I can tell, an active fan base that's at least 5 times the size of Casey's, probably more like 10 times the size plus considerably more access to entertainment/TV stuff -- good for promotion. And she has the good sense to cuddle up to this guy when she gets the chance: He has a few kajillion followers who'd *love* for him to get a girlfriend so they get excited when they see pics like this, and he takes the music industry as a bit of a hobby, occasionally promoting artists and owning a Country bar. I don't know what's going on with Dustin Lynch, but Ms. Kramer is really, really not a good comparision with Casey. ETA: here's a vid of Lynch performing at a radio show He's cute, personable, and very Country-sounding, with a great song. Not surprised he's doing well.

I have been hearing that song all the time on my radio because he is coing here with Trent tomlinson for a show. Funny thing is he is opening up for Trent and he is the one with a single. The song is ok. I not to much into the whole traditional cowboy hat acts.
I am just getting impaitient. I want soemthing big to happen for Casey. LDCIAN is not going to make the top 10 so why not get a second single out there so Casey can really show what he is made of. Oh and I have no idea who that is in the picture with Jana Kramer.

Yes, Casey's sales isn't that high. But there are a lot of people on the charts who doesn't necessarily have high sales. Montgomery Gentry's song was never high, he was in the top 10 and at some point I saw Casey was higher then him. Craig Morgan's song also wasn't selling that well until about last week or so when he finally reached the top 50 on the digital sales chart. Chris Cagles's song also isn't really selling much. Even George Strait doesn't exactly sell much. When you really look closely at the single selling chart it is basically only a few artists who are really selling a lot, when you compare it to the real chart.
As for others like Jana Kramer and Dustin Lynch they are selling better then Casey, why exactly that is I dont know. Kachina has explained to us a bit more about Jana perhaps. As for Dustin Lynch he is on Big Machine, all of their new artists does really well. They are seeming good at getting their new artists some notice, and they are good at breaking in new artist. Compare them to Sony which other new Sony artist except for Casey is really up there? Apart from that I think Dustin Lynch is popular because he is another one of those more traditional artists like Scotty. But I think it is mostly because he is on Big Machine, they seem to be on the ball when it comes to breaking in new artists.
As for Casey's sales, I hope he can atleast sell over 100k, I think that would be a decent first effort for him. But I am hoping some of his other songs like Drive or COAS will prove to be better sellers.

Country radio has been having an existential crisis around what does and does not constitute Country Music. No worries about that with that song, or Dustin Lynch in general, which must be a relief for the PDs.
As for LDCIAN, it seems like we've been listening to it for years, but most people are only just now starting to hear it. (People who live in Memphis, or Ft Wayne, Indiana for example). I expect Sony would at least like to get it into the top 15, definitely the top 20, before they put out the new single. That's probably only another month or two, not much considering how long it's already been on the charts. I suspect, based on anecdotal descriptions of PD reactions to it, that the next song will move much more quickly into the top 40 and encounter much less resistance to airplay, so I think it will move faster up the charts.
I hope it doesn't move too fast. He needs the exposure to generate sales.

If so, that should make 100,000 doable, especially if he stays on the charts another coulpe of months.

I think Caseys next song if Drive or COAS will move faster. It will be more like KIp Moores soemthing bout a truck. Once it gets to a certain point it will rise fast enough where superstar wont go around it so easy and it will beable to move up the charts on its own not rely on recurrents. Like Lee Brices did after hitting the top 20 it just took off. I am hearing more and more songs in the daytime on my station once they hit that top 20 mark
I am so hoping its drive but COAS wont bother me and it could be the one if he dont get another single until say June.

Dale Earnhardt, Jr. I was understating his fanbase at a "few kajillion." It's definitely a lot of kajillion. Probably more like a kazillion.
