From BB :
HOUSEKEEPING: Billboard has amended its minimum current music usage policy for all Nielsen BDS-monitored stations used for tabulation of the Country Airplay chart. For the past 10 years (starting in October 2003), we have required all stations to consistently populate their weekly 30 most-played songs with at least 60% current titles (18 of 30) in order to achieve or maintain reporting status. Effective with the Feb. 4-10 tracking week, any of those weekly top 30 currents that receive half or more of their total plays between midnight-6 a.m. won’t be counted toward a station’s current percentage for that week. This is the only change being made to our reporter criteria at this time.

Any thoughts on the future of COAS? Is this it's last week with a bullet? If so then it would go recurrent on March 4. Or can it be yanked earlier since its so old? If it is yanked on March 4, any guesses as to when a third single could be released?
Or will it recover as the logjam clears out? Doesn't seem likely to me, but I am not too educated on the charts.

It still has a bullet on both charts. No reason to think it is quite done yet. A third sungle wont come probably until coas had gone recurrent a good month.

If Casey truly is getting ready to record for cd number 2 the next single may be off the new cd.

That should make for as good timing for Drive. I am 80% sure I will get to see him on Wednesday. Maybe I will ask if he expects the next single to be from cd 1 or 2. 😄

COAS might recover a bit next week but it will properly not be around much longer. You cant just pull anything off the chart or rather they dont just pull anything off the chart, it will take 3 weeks. They might not be ready to release a single directly after COAS is done. Although I think that there might be a time gap, most of the new singles are being released in January and February. I am sure there will be a gap in March and April.

Hmm I didn't even think about this but COAS could actually go recurrent on Billboard tomorrow. The song is over 20 weeks old so if it has a loss they will properly pull it.
This time though I wouldn't mind, I am ready for a new single.

If it does it does. Ready for either drive or the new era. Just going to caution everyone that if it is drive it doesnt guarantee anything on a crowded chart.

I hope they wait until the chart is less crowded so the next single has a good chance!

I think there will soon be a good opening to release a new song. Most of the superstars akready have new singles that are charting right now. Casey would only have to deal with the normal influx as superstars when they reach no.1, and immediately release something new again. But that is pretty normal, the chart is always competitive the main idea is to carve out your own niche.
Songs Impacting:
February 11, 2013 Greg Bates Fill In The Blank Jake Owen Anywhere With You Katie Armiger Playin' With Fire
February 14, 2013 Shane Yellowbird Pickup Truck
February 18, 2013 Gretchen Wilson Still Rollin' Jaida Dreyer Half Broke Horses Kristen Kelly He Loves To Make Me Cry Rachel Farley Ain't Easy
February 25, 2013 Jason Charles Miller The Way You Still Want Me Tyler Farr Redneck Crazy
March 4, 2013 Randy Houser Runnin' Outta Moonlight
March 18, 2013 Phil Vassar Love Is Alive
March 25, 2013 Weston Burt Lucky Sometimes
April 1, 2013 Morgan Frazier Yellow Brick Road

If they go with a third single I just dont have any expectations since his album isnt selling and it will be a third single. No matter how much fans want drive it doesnt mean radio will play it. My big hope is it would do better then coas and reach top 5 giving him mo going into a new era of music but the chances of that happening are minimal.
