Drifting into space, brighter than a billion stars, shining in your atmosphere, just like a satellite...... Hmmm
Does this sound "Milky Way"? Kinda think so. However, the statement that we haven't heard this does not line up with this song. This song has over 15,000 views on YouTube.
I really LOVE this song, but it needs to remain an album track. It's just not single material given the current country music chart climate. Slow songs are not making it up the charts these days. It needs to get closer to a mid tempo to have a chance, IMO. Not sure they can pull it off with this song. Brett Eldredge is going to be dropping his next single in a month or so and it is likely to be "One Mississippi", a slow song. Brett has a lot of momentum given how well his first two singles charted. Casey will be up against that song which is a very nice ballad. Not sure there is room for two of them from male artists. All this being said, it very well may NOT be "Light Years"

Yeah I have watched that a few times. So much potential but bad singles kill a career.

Yeah I have watched that a few times. So much potential but bad singles kill a career. I couldn't agree more. However, Casey may end up being one of those artists that is going to put out what he wants regardless. The only bad thing is he will end up on a small label and struggle to get airplay. He could end up being more of a Music Row type of artist or like Kellie Pickler who has GREAT music, but country radio will not play it. She still gets gigs on a smaller scale, but definitely bigger than a bar scene type of place. I can see Casey being content with that. That scenario is a bummer to me because I think he is capable of so much more.

I think light years has the words milky way in it. WT would be,so much better because it has tons of energy even though it is slow.

Yeah I think that is what disappoints me if he releases Light years. He has it all.

I will hang my hope on Brian Mansfield's comment instead. Ignorance is bliss! If they can put a Gary Allen type of spin on it I can see this getting into the top 30 and they continue to build momentum from there. Just got a tweet from the event that they are hoping for a July-August release. So, we may not see the album until 2015...

LOL. Maybe the studio version will be very different. Also casey could of said this might be the next single. If him and Sony sure don't know how to pick singles.

Friend at the show did say his new music is a LOT more rock, but still very Casey. Even if they start with a slow song, he will get a 2nd single and that one is bound to be more of a rocker (me hopes).

I said the same thing about his last CD. Did she say if he said that when he played LY Trying to find out if he played LY today... I think they were pretty vague and secretive about the single.

I am hearing from a number of people at the event and he did in fact play Light Years. And it was a lot more uptempo that the version I posted above. I guess it was pretty great. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the song and it is beautiful, I just worry about it being a lead single from a pretty dormant artist. He is still in that "new artist" category.
