Casey looks great! pretty sure he won them over , even tho it was a short set . It is a shame that the set was so short, but the crowd was really cheering. I hope Casey also convinced the radio peeps at the concert.

Casey James Dazzles the Troops at Camp Pendleton by Sheryl Clark Casey James delivered a blistering guitar display and had the crowd dancing and clapping along at the Operation Gratitude Concert featuring an acoustic performance by James and headlined by Kellie Pickler. James thanked the audience three times for their service and said he was ?honored to perform for people who do what is necessary in awful places so that guys like me can do what they love.? Drive opened the set and James thoroughly enjoyed ?beating the guitar bloody? as Texas fan Kathy Terry describes it. He followed that with his new untitled song which elicited whoops and cheers from his fans in the audience. It was clear that devoted fans already know the lyrics to this ballad. As soon as he played the opening notes to Shine Your Shoes, the front section began clapping and dancing. Servicemen in the audience turned to the rest of the 1100 people present and waved them to their feet. Concert attendees started to move down to the sides of the stage and the aisles to watch, sway and photograph the blonde guitarist. James loves children and clearly enjoyed the little ones who were dancing in front of the stage. He invited them to ?all his shows? and promised them ?Snickers and Red Bull? if they rode along on the tour bus. Although Casey James was the opening act, he had his share of supporters at the show, including some young girls with ?We Love Casey? signs. He wound down his set with the cover song Polk Salad Annie featuring ripping guitar solos that threatened to shred the strings on his instrument. Operation Gratitude was conceived after the terrorist attacks in 2001.The organization?s mission is to lift morale and express the appreciation of the American people for the sacrifices of the men and women defending our freedom. Operation Gratitude has sent over 600,000 care packages to troops deployed in regions such as Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as to those on military ships. The concert series sponsored by the organization is another way the volunteer organization offers entertainment to our military personnel.
