The Kellie P thing is one reason Casey wanted to make sure he got the music right and it represented who he was. If he would of put out a cd that was totally not him and had some moderate success and then went in a totally different direction he woukd have some problems. Kellies problem is she was so young she didnt really know who she was except she was a country artist. People think of her as this silly young girl and she isnt anymore.
Boudica the situation with her mom is she had a really bad childhood. Her grandfather raised her. Her dad was in jail ect.

Someone posted over there they dont even remember him as a idol contestant. That is pretty cool because that means he is making progress and fans as just a artist. I just read that! Some really fantastic feedback! As I said what a change. I am so proud of Casey he has generated a bit of goodwill for himself. He just needs to get this song going so that people can start to listen to his album. Well going by this thread alone Casey has made great progress, some of those on pulse are really hard task masters. How do you like the "has some talent as a vocalist". As I said, it would be the easy road to go on idol and sell a few thousand more albums. But perhaps the right path for Casey is really the harder road in this instance, he is distinguishing himself away from idol as an artist in his own right, and that might be the better thing to do for him in the long run.

It is such a difficult game, the truth is you dont have much leeway at all. Radio might give you a chance but at some point you are going to pay for bad single choices. Which is something many idol people are discovering on their second albums. I think the same thing might even happen with Scotty, it doesn't seem like his Water Tower Town song are moving up the charts to quickly. But who knows he is young they might give him a second chance on his second album. In that sense I do believe COAS is the right single for Casey in the long run, even if it doesn't do that well. But then again I guess you will never really know until you have some real hindsight.

Great to hear that people over on Pulse are taking notice of Casey in a good way! I think he has been doing things the right way as far as taking his time to reflect what kind of an artist he really is. It will be so interesting to see how "COAS" does on the charts!

Someone over at pulse posted the whole mediabase chart. COAS isnt showing up. So those 23 spins must of been from unmonitered stations.

When LDCIAN first got spins, it wasn't digitally encoded or something so they didn't show up, even though they were on WXTU. Could that be happening with COAS? Or would the digital copy already be out? Or maybe that doesn't matter since the spins are obviously showing up somewhere. I hate this phase of the new single release. I feel like a kid on a long car trip. <whine> Are we at the top 40 yet...? </whine>

I just mentioned Kellie Ps difficulties with her mom because I saw an interview where Kellie talks about her mom giving her up when she was young, and how one of her songs is in tribute to all that - she hoped it would help others get over their pain. If Kellie is or will be channeling that pain into her music, wOW, that could be a "knock out" song/cd!8)
edit: However, her mom's interview was full of nasty drama and that could cause some blow-back, j/s.

I am not sure but I think tweets maybe about COAS being his next single have helped him on itunes the last couple of days. Its still not great but 128 country is beter then 170. Plus he opens for Alan again this weekend. He also has some shows coming up with artists who are say not superstars but have had huge success like Justin Moore.

No. Caseys CD was like 171 but the last few days it jumped to around 128 or so on the country album charts. I dont think COAS will start to show up until it goes around Love the way you miss me. Thats still bad for his cd but at least he made a little jump.
