Yes, a good one. As it relates to Casey, he certainly has the "package," or is certainly developing it in a seemingly productive way. Casey's recent confidence-jump in his performances, PR skills and the way in which he relates to his fans - people pick up on that, even if sometimes subconsciously, and respond to it positively. I mentioned in previous posts that IMO Casey trusts his instincts and when he eventually embraced modern technology as a friend rather than foe, he put it to quick use, resulting in a huge boost. In all, I think Casey is ahead of the game in many respects. When he produces a great product to back it all up, IMO, there will be no stopping him.

I didn't really know where to post this, it is about the charts. I dont always read the chart numbers, but there seems to be n interesting situation on the sountry charts currently. Obviously we dont really know why they are taking time with Casey's single, it could just be that things are not ready yet. But looking at the charts I think it would have been a very bad time for him to enter the charts, so I dont know if BNA perhaps saw this situation coming. On MJ's someone asked about how Kellie Pickers new single was doing, and the answer was very interesting.
And Windmills also weighed in some on the current situation:
I think it would have been very difficult for Casey in the current situation. Another interesting thing I noticed was that Bradley Gaskin was 31st on the charts. When did his single go for adds? Did he first do promotion for the song or did the song immediately go for add dates? Is he climbing the charts falling down?

I've said the other page on this thread that the competition is so stiff during the summer season for several reasons especially this year with so many debut singles from new albums & acts who are trying to move their careers to the next level & songs spending several weeks at the top like Honey Bee recently , will cause a lack of recurrent songs & will make it painfully slow . A mid act like Kellie who is trying to make it to next level , is known as a slow mover on radio her songs always take forever to move the charts , most of her singles are top20 with only one is top10 , still no top5 . so she needs it , her AI fanbase was a big factor in the past . her debut album is better than her second in terms of material & singles choices .

Boudica regarding Bradley Gaskin Mr. Bartender has been sitting there for awhile. In my opinion it isnt that good of a song. It is nt catchy or anything. I think it will either need to move soon or your going to see it off the charts.
The summer like meme is stif. Acts also want to have sumemr songs out there for their summer tours and stuff also. It wont be long and we will be hearing from Casey. Just a gut. It might even be before Oct if they really think they have a single.

As for Casey , yes! I've thought about this early on , early fall things will be a little better with radio shifting! I think that's a big factor , the timing to his label . I'm also ( pleasantly )surprised that BNA is actually supporting Casey more than Kellie , maybe that's coming from the fact that's it's easier for guys on radio if you look at the charts , I don't know but it looks like that ( not complaining though ) , also they should do that since they have Chesney since 1995 & he is their first success story & already peaked in his career so they need the next hot thing! I think Fall for single & early next year for the album where the market is far far less competitive than the holidays season will be good for him .

MEME can you go into a litle further why you think they are supporting Casey more then kellie. I think alot of Caseys being able to get all these gigs is his management. You know Blake Shelton was always hit and miss with his songs until he changed to Rebas husband as management. Sometimes i think mangement is way more important then th record label.
Fall does make more sense because they will be shifting out of all the summer songs. the fun summer songs will be leaving the charts ect. I cant wait to see what song we have for Casey.

^^ It is indeed Management is far more important especially with the way in the market right now! and I'm really happy with Casey's management . my take was more with the connections & some industry events it seems like the label has a hand on them ! especially with the ACMs last april where actually each labels provides a list of their artists who are going to perform . We saw the pix from there of Casey with Sony Nashville CEO & the rest of the company's execs. like BNA Vice President of Promotion . so , it is an evidenet! & also the CRS 2 days radio event , shouldn't they send Kellie who is releasing before Casey ?!

It wont be long and we will be hearing from Casey. Just a gut. It might even be before Oct if they really think they have a single. Oh okay I was wondering about that single. I cant remember how it sounded (and I am not going to specifically listen to it again ), but I saw the other day the song had something like 60 000 hits on youtube when we looked at the video a while back the song had something 2000 hits. So people have clearly been listening to it. It almost makes me worried a bit that Casey isn't getting so many hits after all of these shows he has been doing. But I dont know Casey has so many videos of every song he does, perhaps if there were less videos people would watch the same ones more, or perhaps not who knows. I remember Mr. Bartender had nice lyrics but song was slow. It is interesting to see that it hasn't really moved up on the charts in months, I also haven't seen Bradly Gaskin doing as much promotion as Casey, the only thing that I can recall that he did that was similar was that he also played on the Lays stage. It is interesting for me to compare what Casey does against another new Sony act, as we know they were both "launched" at that same Sony boat party. Of course I dont really follow all of the country promotion or anything so perhaps he did some other important gigs. Anyways from what I have seen it seems like Casey is actually getting quite good promotion. But I find it interesting that Bradley Gaskin has so many youtube hits when his song is just sitting at around the Top 30 charts with not that much promotion, so I take it that means getting radio play is very, very important indeed.

^^ that's because his video is been played on CMT & GAC . while Casey not , when Casey has a single on the charts both CMT & GAC & other countdown shows are big factors on getting some exposure & interest-spins . ETA : and what you said in your last 2 lines of your post ( sorry didn't finish reading your post ) . That's a good point comparing Casey with new-comers , it is indeed seems like Casey has the edge from all of the them , in terms of good management / connections / label's support !

I watched the video for Mr. Bartender the othr day and the guy has no personality. Casey is so far ahead of even this guy. Compare the two and you can see who has the it factor.
Not to worried about Caseys videos because even the new fans probably arent thinking to go look for videos of these shows. When he has a actual video out then the numbers wil matter.
I have yet to see his video on either channel just on their online sites

I want to add also , it's very clear the first thing new fans of Casey do is googling his name , immediately after Casey's Sugarland tour started google has started suggesting other top searches like " Casey James Facebook " ; " Casey James Twitter " ; Casey James Sugarland Tour " or " Casey James Sugarland " ; or even " Casey James New Music " his site & wiki are always at the top of search's results , his wiki numbers increased by 1000% & his Twitter followers & FB likes increased pretty much ! off course these things don't count always but it's good to have interest ! I've noticed always that all the new fans post on his FB after one of his concerts ( recently with that guy from NM ) .

Casey's management is doing good job with the gigs so far. I suppose that is their main job and properly negotiating a good position for him within his label. Sony is certainly giving Casey time or they are taking their time, I wouldn't judge their support of Casey yet until I see them really pushing Casey's single. Speaking of gigs I know the whole opening for Sugarland is a big deal and a good opportunity for Casey. But from what I have read and seen I dont know if Sugarland's audience is really such a good fit for Casey. Casey has gotten a better response from that opening he did at the Kenny Chesney concert for example. So I hope they can perhaps line up some other big acts for which Casey could open. What are the chances of Casey opening for say the Zack Brown band? here are the releases for the next months of this year : July 12, 2011 Incubus - If Not Now, When? Colbie Caillat - All Of You Blake Shelton - Red River Blue Yes - Fly From Here Brian McKnight - Just Me Chris Young - Neon Fair to Midland - Arrows & Anchors Theory of a Deadman - The Truth Is...
