Taylor Swift wouldn't have been the first one that comes to mind for Casey to tour with. But Casey's songs appeals to the young country demographic so it could work. On the otherhand I dont think touring with TS alone means much of anything. You also have to build up your successes. But Casey had done a bit of that now. For him it is more about the publicity and marketing opportunities.
And of course it is nice to see Casey on a big tour again opening for someone big.

So, Casey James is opening for Taylor Swift's tour? Well, at least someone will be able to sing live on that tour.

I totally agree with this. It probably wont have much of an effect on sales ect. But it ect. I remember Danny Gokey and laughing because no one was showing up for his dates with TS and because they were big stadiums it looked so empty. This is defintly the last person I would have guessed Casey would agree to tour with. But it is only 14 dates so lots of opportunity this summer to still do his own shows and festivals. The fact that TS is so different it could be a good thing to bring in little bit of a different audience if some show up. But i dont picture the pre teen girld and guys becoming fans of some one like Cssey. But like Boudica said the it about more exposure and media now.Its funny because Caseys mom will tweet radio stations when they mention TS and she defintly is not a fan. Nothing mean but kind of humerous stuff. Taylor Swift wouldn't have been the first one that comes to mind for Casey to tour with. LOL It wasn't that long ago that we were hearing from guys that Casey was "not country" and just "went country for a deal" because he was really a rocker. Now, we're hearing that Taylor Swift is shoring up her country credentials by having Casey open for her. I love it.

Oh I dont know COAS was quite popular with the younger country crowd. And Casey's songs have always tested much better with the younger country demographic then with the core demographic. But yes this is much more about marketing. Lots of Taylor fans are already tweeting about it. Casey will have interviews and media exposure in every place where has to open for TS. He will also be getting reviews everywhere. He is much more ready for this now then when he started by opening for Sugarland. He has some clever dates like Nashville and LA. Clearly these dates are for marketing.

Casey is slowly changing people's perception of him.

Younger crowd yes. Not 10 or 11 yearold little girls. That probably a stereotype though. Because I really like most of her stuff and I am certainly not a 10 or 11 yearold little girl.
