I'm guessing from what we have already heard, that it will either be "Drive" or "Lets not call it a Night". But it could be something entirely different! |

But it could be something entirely different! ;D I agree! if they want to go the Ballad-ish sound , they'll choose Let's Don't Call It A Night , it's the most country for my ears! & has that Poppy/soul-ful John Mayer-ish sound too! & it's mid TEMPO! which has that cross-over appeal & potential! & if they want to go with the rockish sound , they'll choose Drive , since it's the most catchier song! OR! going entirly with a different song! ( I love surprises ;D ) I SO can't wait!  |

I agree that it looks like Sony is leaning towards "Drive." The teaser video and the fact that it was the first song he debuted. It seems it would also fit under the umbrella of new country.
Having said that, I'm a huge fan of "Done Made Up My Mind" and I think it would also be a good choice for a first single. It's rocking, has a great hook, and appeals to both men and women.

I agree that it will probably be "Drive." I am also a big fan of "Done Made Up My Mind," and would LOVE that to be the first single. Whatever it is though, I know it will be great. I can't wait for his album!

I also love "Done made up my Mind". Very southern rockish sounding to me which I absolutely

I've been saying all along, I really thing it's got to be Drive. I almost can't explain why, it just feels "right" for the first single. The hook is ridiculous, and instantly identifiable, and the lyrics will resonate with guys and girls. Especially if it drops in the summertime/early fall, it's gonna be the perfect road trip song!

The reason why I can't see Done Made Up My Mind as a single is b/c it's 'Too heavy' for Country radio!! but I don't know , maybe they can release it like the last single of the album ... who knows! I mean he has +60 songs right now! possibilities it won't even make the album! maybe there is one better than it ?! ... Shall see ....... ( OR! they can 'Countrify' it a little on the studio!  |

That been said & I'll say it again! it's crystal clear that BNA & his management! are taking an artist's development path with Casey not a quick buck from 'Idol' fanbase! Casey is first contestant he said that! & they're actually doing that with him!! he is doing his own thing & still sounds Country , so it's not like what people say a marketing tool like some artists *without naming names* . ( ) Heck! He doesnt have anything out yet! & he is getting gigs here & there! I mean it's so hard to get that kind of promotion like the CRS or the ACM Fremont event or the ACM FanJam & you don't have an album! that's clear! that they're laying the groundwork for promotion beside the artist development! makes logical sense! As for the single! I think I mentioned last week that Casey's single most definitely will be out at the begining of June! NO longer than the second week of June! Kellie is releasing hers these coming 2 weeks! makes sense since she's been working on that album more than a year! I'm actually surprised that BNA arn't building up for that release like they did with her previous ones! she didnt perform at the CRS event in March! ( Casey got that slot , so I'm thankful ) maybe they think that she is an established artist ? I don't know . however she is known as a very slow climber artist on the charts! she desperately needs a Top5 single after a not so good second album! I'm happy Casey isn't releasing this time ! Lady A. are releasing their lead single off their next album today! that single will over-shadow all the releases in May! However they'll top the charts so fast! most likely their album will be released in August-September . As for BNA releases! Kellie is releasing the next 2 weeks ( no official date yet ) , also we have the Lunabelles , a Country group under BNA , are releasing the last week of May! So it's now more clear that Casey's single will be impacted to radio during the first 2 weeks of June! ( As I mentioned above , they're building up for Casey's single nicely ) & Kenny Chesney's 4th single will be impacted on late June! That will be great , Casey will have that XTU Philly radio station gig ( June 4th ) , also CMT Awards ( June 8th ) & of course CMA Fest ( 9 - 12 ) , he will do several radio tours after that . People might ask , about so many releases under BNA the next months , & the possibilities that Casey might get lost in the shuffle or that Sony Nashville are focusing on certain artist! First , this is not new for a label , specially for a major label under Sony . RCA are pushing Sara Evans for #1 ( she is #1 this week , so congrats to her ) & promoting both Jake Owen's single & Chris Young's single at the same time , plus , RCA is preparing to release Jake's & Chris's album at the same period soon! & BNA's roster was bigger than now ( only 4 artists ) they're used of a full schedule like this ! And , Re-Sony Nashville : Sony N. isn't responsible for promotion or doing radio promo or even producing albums , that's the job of the imprints under their umberella! Sony N. is maily for distrubuting the albums & doing the paper works ( hence , when they send a single , you'll only see the imprint's name with the artist not Sony's ) |

Does anyone have a different single in mind since we have heard two new songs from Casey? I really love "Show me a Bridge" and think its beautiful! But "I Lied" is really good too and more uptempo, so that one may be better for the single. What do ya'll think? |

But if I hafta consider the country market, the more country sounding ones like Show Me a Bridge has a good chance. At this point, I would rather see Casey's success in country radio than what I prefer to hear. I don't know what country fans prefer to hear to start with. |
