Even though show me a bridge and the other acoustic stuff is very country I dont think any of them would make a good first single. There to slow. A mid tempo or up beat one would work. I think they missed the opportunity to make drive the first single. It needs to be released in spring for a summertime song Maybe a future single.
I dont love I lied. I like it but I think it lacks a melody or catchy hook. It is too repetitive for me as it is. Could they rework it I guess.
I dont t hink country fans really care if the song is real straight up country. If it is a good song with a strong hook and melody and you can make it believeable they will play it no matter if it is pop country or straight up country.
Done made up my mind could be a single if he was already a established artist but I think it is too far out there to make your debut with. He needs to get established first.
You need some texas I think would work well as a first single. Its fun. It reminds me of Blake Sheltons honeybee.

Yeah, too bad about Drive and that it's been almost over-played, would have been a great summer song. Did a re-listen of So Sweet and got a better appreciation for it this time around. It is a really poignant love song. Given time to where Casey is really comfortable with it, it could be quite the hit record. Don't know how it slipped by me my first listen. Geez, there are so many to choose from now, how cool is that?!!

Among the new songs that he played at Billy Bob's, check out "She's Money". It's among the videos that Shari posted but it's not on the video list in that blog. Anyway, I think it's got a catchy rockin' country vibe and a fabulous hook in "She's money." I can imagine that one sounding great on the radio. Plus, it really showcases Casey's unique voice and guitar skills. (He also hits a high falsetto note in it which I love and he seldom does.)
With more than two months to go (October?) before he releases a single and a whole month of big, live shows ahead of him in July, I think he'll have time to get a good reaction from audiences to that and other new songs...and maybe he'll reconsider his first single choice. (I have nothing against either Don't call it a night, or So Sweet, in fact I really like them, but by October, I think they'll both be overexposed.)

Yup! it's so hard to choose! especially with the majority of them work out as singles ( if not all of them ) . with all the changing up on the performances! LDCIAN or any other song on the same vien ( MID- Tempos ) will make perfect fit right now on this radio time / or next ! She's Money is now my summer song choice ( sorry Drive ) .

Shes money is very commercial. I think they could release this anytime. Unlike drive is more of a summertime driving song. I would be shocked if shes money wasnt the cowrite with Randy Owen. If you go listen to old alabama brad paisleys calab with alabama you can hear it in shes money.

I dont know about anyone else but as exciting its going to be to have his single it is also going to be scary and nerve racking. Casey has put a lot of pressure on himself taking his time and writing with the best songwriters out there. I would feel so bad for him if he doesnt have a hit with his first single. Excited and nervous all at the same time.

I wonder how far in advance we will know for sure what Caseys single is and the date going to radio. I noticed you can get Dannys new single on itunes now and it isnt going to radio for a couple of weeks and isnt impacting until august.

That is what all access says about Dannys. I was just curious once they have decided when we will have a clue of a date and which song. The fall stuff should start to show up on all access soon.

My post wasn't clear sorry! I was saying that they usually send a single for download either the week beofre the impact or after! Not sure how that will benefit him since he got very little radio support from the previous era
