Gurl, your pysch statistical analysis background is showing:) Crackin' me up! So true, if you don't take those things into account, the results aren't valid. Right? Yep, but you can almost always find some argument against these types of things if you are looking for one. The one thing that is interesting though about the poll is the number of people who has voted in it already. Last time the poll was up for a long time, and I just checked, there was 291 votes. The poll has only been up for a while today and it already has 293 votes. Hopefully that atleast is a good sign. Casey's fanbase might currently be small but atleast it is a loyal fanbase. Also while So Sweet is obviously ahead of the others, it was much further ahead last time.

I think the numbers on the poll are higher because we are votng for 5 songs instead of one.
This fall is going to be so fun. Album art for the single Hopefully a cool video. I just giggle and laugh at a video. I think Casey will be a natural and have fun.

It is going to be loads of fun! I dont really get the hoopla over the album art, most of the time it is just a photo of the artist. But anything Casey related is of course going to be great. ;D

It will just be fun to see what kind of art and what he looks like on the cover.
I have to admit although excited for all of this I am also very nervous. I would feel so bad for him if his single didnt do well or he had really low album sales. But if he does better then expected then we can say ha ha to all the haters.
He has written with all great hitmakers so he should be just fine. I am actually shocked and impressed with some on the list he talked about in that interview.

I agree eventhough people are excited to get things moving there is also the unknown element. David Cook's fans were also waiting anxiously for his album and single to be released and now things are not that rosy anymore. So yeah while I am excited I also really dont mind to wait.
At the moment I am expecting the worse but hoping for the best.
I really dont know what to expect, Casey has waited so long, this could all turn sour pretty quickly. On the otherhand I think Casey can do something if he keeps on plucking at it. I dont know if he will immediately have some success on the radio, perhaps he wouldn't. But on the otherhand if one of his more authentic, originals are chosen then who knows it could perhaps really take off. (or not).
You are the one who listens to country radio, how does Casey's music compare? (Although it isn't just about the music).

Only time will tell ......... but I'm really happy for him , things are definitly good & on the right way!
As for the single , I still think it's Mid - Tempo a better . radio will shift in October from Summer songs! & you have radio freeze in December / the first 2 weeks of the new year! Drive is something to release for early summer ( in the case of Casey , it'll be with the timing of his second single ) . we're now talking about Oct. / Sep. single , sooo ....... A single on early fall should be a song gets air play during the freeze & winter! so a mid - tempo is good fit! 2 years ago , Lady A. released Need You Now (mid-tempo ) on early fall , by the new year it was huge on radio & played on several formats , the label even released their album earlier even tho it was the time when sales hit the lowest point of the year! ( the first 3 moths of the year ) but that didn't stop them since they had the air-play! . So Casey's first album will totally depends on that! this is why there is no clear date for album release!

Well I have to say casey being in country music has ben a struggle with me a little bit. Because I so want him to suceed in the genre I love. And I know how fans will say anything is good even if it is crap. So I hope I am honest with myself. Persoanlly I think Casey tranlates well onto radio. But there are so many other factors to consider. But this is kind of how I gage if I am being onest. If Caseys songs were not great I dont think I would of played his cd i made all day at work yesterday. The fact I dont really lsiten to other genres tells me this would fit in well. i dont think I would be playing it so much if it wasnt the type of music I generally listen to on the radio.
I dont know what to expect either. Casey has the ptoential to blow up just because he has some cross over appeal and fans from all genres of music from idol. Not radio cross over appeal but just because he is different he will attract more then country fans.
Far as an album release we will get that when he is done with the cd. Kellie Pickler dont have a release date yet either.

Kellie Pickler dont have a release date yet either. Country has not, until recently, been my standard go-to music so I'll give a different perspective. Casey said he is of the Country genre but doesn't SING country and I think that is so true. What attracts me to Casey's music is that #1 I think some of his sound is a throwback to the early 70s music, an era of stellar bands & creativity, #2 the gritty, bluesy close-to-the-earth (my descriptive) sound is reminiscent of the (waaay) Old South, touching a collective reminiscence of the origins of southern music ; #3 agree, he is unique; at a time when cookie-cutter artists are being churned out in droves, even putting a whole new spin on old classics and producing a genuinely new sound, at minimum, all contributing to huge crossover appeal. IMO Casey has excellent instincts and, so far, they have served him VERY well:) My gut tells me we're in for a pleasant suprise at just how well his finished product will do:)

I hope your right. I will have a better feel about how his cd will do once I see how the single is doing and how much he is out promoting it. It would be so fun if Casey became a star.
I am not old enough to really know much about stuff from the 70's but what I do know is that alot of that would be in the country genre today. they play the eagles and the nitty gritty dirt band all the time on my country station. If Casey can bring a fresh new sound to that kind of music he should do just fine.

Casey has done that to a great extent already with his R&B covers, those from 50s-60s artists:)
You are so right:) Creedence Clearwater Revival is a another of many examples of a "rock" band that sounded waaay country.

Yes that is also what I am worried about sometimes! ;D I like a lot of the music, and I hope I can remain objective. I am not into country music so therefore I dont know if it a good or bad thing that I like so many of Casey's songs.

I think people who dont like country music probably have an easier time to be as open as possible about his music. I hope I do. All I can gage my objectivity on is I cant stop playing it. I think that is a really good sign.
