They were playing the heck out of FA in Dallas, Houston and SD. Maybe if the single was also selling well in those areas? I've tried googling for sales figures, but either I've forgotten how or they just aren't available. WT doesn't really sound like a radio single, but it's a very special song so maybe they'll take a chance on it? The new CEO might want to make a point about not doing things the old way...
Y'all know I'm not optimistic about him staying with Sony (but I don't doubt he'll be signed with someone), but I would really like to see Sony make a serious push at marketing him across more than one song.

So Casey debuted yet again another slow song. I am so over it.

I hope they are actually waiting on the new CEO. And I hope he is someone ready to take a risk on a song with Casey. He cannot put out another slow or mid tempo love song. I PRAY that he catches wind of "Drive" and gets it out to radio right away. It is the best song he has. PERIOD. At this point they need to put out his best song. If he gets this opportunity it will be his last so it better count. If we get a slow love song I might have to be put in the loony bin. For reals.

So what's news about the new CEO of SN ? I've heard about some guy who's name is Jason Owen .
I'm not sure about that , but if you remember well, Jason Owen was Casey's manager the first year when he got signed. Maybe that's good for Casey when that guy take up the new job ?

It might be good news if that does turn out to be the new CEO. We will see. Everything Casey has for this new album needs to go in the trash can. And while he is finding new music it isn't a bad idea to release drive. It's summer it would go over so well. But it' will probably be to late once a new CEO is named.

Jason Owen could be a very lucky change. Here's an article on Love and Theft from earlier this year talking about getting dropped and life after Sony.
Overton gives a lame response at the bottom to the issue of the lag time between singles. It doesn't sound like the place is very well run -- kinda hit or miss for newer artists.
It may not be enough for Jason to just believe in Casey, he'll need to be a very good CEO as well to clean up that mess. If he takes the job. You can kinda see why he wouldn't want to.
As for Drive: I love it so, so much and I'd love to see it get a push on radio but I don't think there's any way they'd go back to a previous album after releasing something off a newer one. It's a big admission of failure as far as promo and the second album go and radio would be well aware of that. Maybe they can remix it and put it on the second album? Even so, Sony would be throwing themselves under the bus and taking the blame for Casey's lack of sales/radio success so far and that's not something corporations usually do. For one thing, it'd give guys like Love and Theft too much leverage.

They can remix it and put it in the new album. Artists have done it before. Keith Urban did it with You Look Good in my Shirt and had a big hit. If anything it only shows the failure of the previous CEO. I have not heard a new song he's still playing that is better than Drive. He seems to have let go of GIOW, GOAR, Nothin Like You and BTTB. Those are the best of this new era but seems like he's not hanging on to them.

OMG
Casey just tweeted that he's parted ways with Bryan Frasher. Not sure when but they are done.

Good. The guy did nothing for him. This may just be a precursor to his departure with Sony.

This all makes sense now that he didn't really have much going on at CMA fest.

Yikes!
I agree that Frasher didn't move Casey to the next level, so it makes sense for Casey to want to part ways, but it also makes sense for Frasher to want to leave if Casey's gonna get dropped by Sony. Overall, I'm not getting a good vibe.

Those are the best of this new era but seems like he's not hanging on to them. I wonder sometimes if he doesn't wear the songs out in his own mind when he debuts them on the road prior to recording. But he also doesn't seem to trust the fans' taste -- Never Walk Away, Hold On (not that I miss it), Why I'm Feeling Blue, etc. And I remember liking She's My Girl for its strong hook, but it was retired early. I suspect he may be trying a little too hard to craft an image/signature sound. If they're ever gonna remix Drive, this would be the time to do it. Of course, it's still Sony, so next April would probably be the soonest we could expect it to go for adds if the made the decision to do it yesterday.
