So there is a new twitter handle "Casey Street Team". It looks like its only been around for a day or so but it already has over 50,000 followers. How is this possible? It is a little odd. What can it hurt, but the person is in the UK and just tweeting like crazy out of the blue. She's tweeting all of these UK and US radio stations. I don't really care about the UK ones, but I know that US radio stations frown upon being spammed with requests from fan clubs and folks who are obviously outside of their listening area. This looks like a fan club page and she's going to town req FA to US stations. Last thing he needs is for these stations to be annoyed by this and not want to play it even more than they already aren't playing it. Probably not a big deal since no one is playing FA anyway. But still.
Casey Street Team @caseyjamesst · 44m44 minutes ago @925wbee I'm betting your listeners would love to hear a bit of @caseyjames #FallApart!!!

Update: Looks like she changed the name of an existing twitter account from a one she had before about country music in general. Seems to really want to spread the word. He needs all the help he can get at this point. It helps to have new people show up who are fresh an eager to tweet like crazy and aren't burnt out. It was really odd when she showed up on the scene with all of those followers and made me suspicious. Sounds like she's just a big fan in the UK who has a sudden urge to help get the word out about Casey on Twitter.

More from Pulse. I am hoping they bring in some new leadership that will take a close look at all of the artists....

Tanya B. Welch has exited Sony Music Nashville after two decades with the label group. She served as Sr. Director of Artist Development & Marketing.
She tells MusicRow, “It’s been an amazing 20 year ride with Sony Music Nashville (including Epic, Columbia, RCA, BNA, Monument and yes, even Lucky Dog Records) and I’m forever grateful for the lessons learned and the friendships cultivated. I’m truly overwhelmed when I think of the front row seat I’ve had to witness this era of modern country music (not to mention the legacy projects I’ve been blessed to be a part of)…I’m excited about the future and a soon to be announced new adventure.”

This was expected but it still doesn't bode well for some of the young artists with Sony Music Nashville as they will now have a new CEO officially announced very shortly and a new Senior Director of Artist Development & Marketing.
I'm interested to see what Sony does over the course of the coming months.

I hope so too, but I think it's more likely that whoever comes in will want a clean slate upon which to create his/her own vision. But maybe, if we and Casey are lucky, the new team will want to make a point about their skills by promoting the under-performing artists in a new way.
<fingers crossed>

I don't think he has a chance with a new CEO. His new music is so underwhelming a new CEO isn't going to see any potential. At least from the stuff we have heard. The only chance is maybe there is some material Sony hasn't liked that a new CEO will like.

Well, I know that last time some of my favorite songs on the album were ones I hadn't heard before it dropped. He could have some gems. COAS, Miss Your Fire, etc....

Big interview in Aircheck Weekly with new Sony CEO Randy Goodman: www.countryaircheck.com/pdfs/current071315.pdfMost compelling part for me: How do you see your artist roster taking shape?That's one of the most difficult things to do because it's something you have to be very careful with. I'll be spending a lot of time with artists and managers over the next two weeks, making some hard decisions not only about what the roster should look like, but about what the priorities should be.

No matter what his mom said he has been dropped. They would not of taken his picture and info down. I do not believe I said anything regarding whether or not he was dropped. I am very intrigued by what this guy is saying. Surely he will be meeting with Casey in the next couple of weeks to discuss the terms of his departure (assuming that is what's happening). This timeline fits with what I have heard Casey has said about knowing exactly what is going to happen with the songs he has recorded, etc. Then he is free to move about as he pleases. I would imagine he is still sort of in limbo until this meeting takes place. He does need to find someone to help manage him and get him bookings etc. Hopefully he can find a way to record an EP on his own so the fans have something to buy and other labels have something to listen to.

Thought this is interesting. Sony pulled T Farr single "Withdrawals" after only 6 wks. So this conversation just happened over at Pulse last night. They were talking about Sara and where she could land now that Sony dumped her too (after botching EVERYTHING with her over the last couple of years). Since the day we found out he was dropped, I had hoped he would land at Black River. I really like what they have done with Kellie Pickler. She hasn't had a lot of radio support, but they continue to let her make the music she wants without compromise. Also, they have really done a great job with Kellsea. This is purely speculation, but I just really want him to land somewhere like Black River. rsmatto Avatar 14 hours ago rsmatto said: bboat11 Avatar yesterday at 12:33am bboat11 said: I think Sara could do really well at Black River as well. I think of her as a bigger name than Craig Morgan, and he has had quite a bit of success with them despite the fact that they obtained him way after his radio peak days. And they have demonstrated lately with Kelsea that they have both the ability and tenacity to get female artists played. Of course, Kellie Pickler probably has a different opinion about that... But still, Sara is already a big name, and they would just need to rejuvenate her career rather than completely build it. That being said, they already have a pretty full roster for a single label, so they probably aren't looking for anyone else to sign at the moment... I know this thread isn't the place to speculate about which labels might pick up an artist, but I just wanted to put in my two cents while the topic was broached I would definitely not be disappointed if Sara ended up on Nash Icon, but at the same time I would be thrilled if she lands somewhere that could potentially get her a few more top 20 hits! Actually, I don't think Black River wants to many more 'grizzled veterans' at this point. They have Craig for that and are in need of newer acts or acts like Love and Theft, Casey James and Kellie , still young and ready to have more hits, if the right songs come along. Note, Love and Theft and Casey James are just names of artists who COULD work at Black River. I don't know of any specific names but I do know that Black River's top priority is signing new acts, like Kelsea Ballerini and John King. I could also see them going for artists like JT Hodges, Joel Crouse, Rachel Farley and The Farm. I agree and and am confident that Black River is not really looking for veteran acts like Sara. Craig made sense at the time since they needed his name recognition to get some momentum built up with radio. They love Kellie and her music and did not want to pass up the opportunity to sign her when she left her major label.
