We have Collaborations credits Casey James “‘Til My Guitar’ Songwriting Credits!Til My Guitar, a bluesy country pop ballad debuted live by Casey James at his live gigs this year, is cowritten by Casey, Gary T. Nicholson, and Jon Randall. Gary Nicholson and Jon Randall cowrote Reba’s current single When Love Gets A Hold Of You. Gary Nicholson also cowrote 4 tracks on Taylor Hicks’s sophomore album The Distance, including the title track, “Keeping It Real”, and “Maybe You Should” which he cowrote with Taylor and other writers. Jon Randall is a well known country songwriter who has written cuts for Kenny Chesney and Little Big Town as well as singles with Gary Allan and Dierks Bentley, whose bluegrass-flavored album Up On The Ridge he also produced. But Jon Randall may be most well-known for cowriting the country classic “Whiskey Lullaby,” performed by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. mjsbigblog.com/casey-james-til-my-guitar-songwriting-credits.htmMore Casey James Songwriting Collaborators NamedThe Casey James Blog learned last month that one of his new songs, the rockin’/bluesy “Done Made up My Mind” with which Casey has been closing out his recent sets, was co-written by Casey James and hit makers Tony Martin and Mark Nesler. Martin and Nesler are two-thirds of the writing talent behind Keith Urban’s latest no. 1, “You Look Good in My Shirt” and the title song for the movie “Country Strong.” Martin and Nesler also co-penned Tim McGraw’s “Just to See You Smile,” ranked by Billboard as the Number One country single of 1998.
Fans may already be aware that the rockabilly-influenced song “Bulletproof” was co-written with Delbert McClinton thecaseyjamesblog.com/2011/04/29/more-casey-james-songwriting-collaborators-named/thanx to windmills , the Country author in MJsBigBlog & thanx to Shari & TheCaseyJamesBlog for additional info. OMG!!!!!!! I'll happily die just to hear background vocals from Alison Krauss in one of Casey's tracks ;D

windmills' take on the new songs ( she is a Country auther & contributer from MJsBigBlog ) : Show Me A Bridge is a KILLER song. The lyrics riff off the idea of burned bridges but present it in an innovative way. There’s probably been a lot of songs about guys haunted by their self-destructive pasts but this one is up there as one of the better ones, and one of the best ones in recent years. It’s painful and poignant. This one absolutely must make the album. IMO it’s one critics would notice.
The best part of I Lied is the melody. It’s not that original lyrically but everything about it fits together so nice and Casey’s phrasing sells it.
I’m happy Casey’s making a country album that can properly be called country. I really thought he had it in him but you never know until you hear the music.
Drive sounds even countrier when it’s acoustic so those of you worried about the songs sounding so country will probably feel better when you hear the studio versions and the full band live shows. I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum in that I didn’t want Casey to call his music country unless it had real country in there. I’m a happy camper though based on the songs because they’re not only country and true to Casey but most of them are quite good.
Casey’s post Idol choice of cover songs remains awesome. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: when you see the songs he’s pulled out to cover during his sets this year, you know this is a guy who was deeply engaged with the country scene. There’s no way he’d know these songs if he weren’t.
We’ve heard 8 original tunes by Casey by now? I’ve got 4 of them in my “MUST make the album” category:
Show Me A Bridge Bulletproof (Bullet Proof?) Drive Til My Guitar
There’s things I like about the other 4 so I wouldn’t be mad if they were on Casey’s album too. Especially I Lied and Let’s Don’t Call It A Night. Hold On’s the only one I think needs major reworking if it’s going to make the album.

windmills from MJsBigBlog got another co-writing scoop : More Casey James song titles have surfaced, this time out of his collaborations with Aimee Mayo and her fellow songwriter/husband Chris Lindsey. Together this trio cowrote “I Miss Your Fire” and “Living Or Dying” . mjsbigblog.com/idols-gone-country-5711-edition.htmCan't wait to hear them!! I commented there too ;D

Listening to Casey's Acoustic set everyday several times! it's one of Casey's best! Show Me A Bridge is indeed a KILLER song! even some people might be a little 'sensetive' , because the song is a bit traditional . but it's one of Casey's best! IMO . I see some people wasn't fond of it at the begining but now they're in love with it after some plays , it's catchy! would be special song on the album . I hope that the song will be a single

NEW Casey James co-writes dug up by our own Windmills:
•“These Hands” co-written by Casey James and Tom Douglas •“Get it Right” co-written by Casey James, Aimee Mayo and Chris Lindsey . •“I Can’t Leave You Alone” co-written by Casey James, Jim Beavers, and Brett Beavers. Tom Douglas cowrote “The House That Built Me” with Allen Shamblin, which has swept all the Song Of The Year awards in the country genre the past year. He’s also done a lot of writing for and cowriting with Lady Antebellum (I Run To You) and he’s also co-written with Carrie Underwood this year.
Brett Beavers worked a ton with Dierks Bentley’s first few albums as a cowriter and producer. He’s also producing Sunny Sweeney’s current hit singles and upcoming album. He’s the guy I’ve had my eye on as the best producer for Casey James’ debut (other than T Bone Burnett which is a pipe dream. Jon Randall would also be good and we know Casey’s written with him too).
Jim Beavers has written a lot with Dierks too, and he’s written songs for Billy Currington. He’s got a cut on Brad Paisley’s previous album and he also cowrote the awesome Blake Shelton/Miranda Lambert duet Draggin The River from one of Blake’s EPs last year. CaseyJ’s got a lot of collaborator overlap with Dierks Bentley which is exactly what I thought he should do, just adding his bluesy touch to make it more him. This is really sounding like a legit Texas country album which I am really happy about . – Windmills
