Wish there are more discussions & activities in the forums! ...... I know! It's not really hopping on the other ones either. I think it will pick up when Casey starts doing shows again and of course .... when his single & album are out!

I could do a better job advertising that there's a discussion board. I don't often say anything on Twitter or FB. Maybe if we all start reminding his fans, they'll head over here.

Sorry , I was really busy the last few days! What do you think of American Idol ? I havn't watched anything from this season! Hey Meme! How are ya? You probably know that Scotty won this year. I'm not a big traditional country person by any means, so I'm not entirely thrilled. But, I was not that into this season anyway, so its not a big deal. I will probably be seeing Scotty & Lauren a lot though, since I follow country much more now because of Casey. He's worth making the change! ;D

^^ thanx! I'm good! Yeah! I'm a big Country fan , but actually don't get all the hype this year! Idol is a "reality TV" now , not a talents competition !! However , looks like Idol is uber-cheaping this year : American Idol winner Scotty McCreery, 17, and the runner-up, Lauren Alaina, 16, are both minors, which means their contracts with Idol have to be approved by a Los Angeles judge. That also means the contents of those contracts become part of the public record.
The Associated Press has all the details. Let’s examine the numbers!
•Scotty will receive at least $250,000 in advances for winning the show and recording the first album. •He will also tens of thousands of dollars more for granting “Idol” partners likeness, merchandise and endorsement rights, and will also receive royalties on any music he releases. •Lauren will receive $87,500 for finishing second. The amount would be doubled if she records an album. •Jordin Sparks, who was a minor when she took the crown in 2007, received a contract that guaranteed her a $180,000 advance after the show and another $180,000 after delivering her first album. Oof. Scotty takes a pay cut! •S7 runner up, David Archuleta, (17 at the time) had a contract that indicated a payout of $360,000 total if an album was recorded, with an advance of $155,000–double that once he produced an album. •In some past seasons, winners were paid a minimum of $100,000 for merchandise rights, records show. Draft merchandise agreements for Scotty and Lauren give him $50,000 and her $40,000. More pay cuts! Looks like 19 is on a tight budget!
The teens’ “Idol” contracts and recording deals require the show’s producers and partners to place 15 percent of their gross earnings in a trust account that cannot be touched until after they turn 18 years old

What did Gokey say? Or, where is this interview? As far as Casey goes, remember Carrie Underwood didn't just slide into acceptance in Nashville. She has talked about that. Sugarland and Little Big Town have already praised Casey. He was on tour with them and THEY saw his appeal for themselves. Besides he's been in the Texas music scene for years...that is all in his favor.

I watched most of this season and have to say it was a lot less angst-ridden than last season, at least for me. Last season if I had met some of the judges in a dark alley I'd have given them a good whippin' ;D This season there was a lot less drama and more professionalism (a little more). Tho, I had thought Randy was so knowledgable about all things music but discovered he just did his homework and sometimes not very well - he was sometimes sketchy in details; plus he was pimping people like last season and it was glaring because the other two judges weren't so much. AND he had this sick banter with Ryan - "Ryan! Ryan! Say it! Someone's in it to win it!!!" Geez! I think the Idols who are most likely to succeed made the top two spots even though I had other favorites.
HUGE! At the finale, the camera was on Ryan Seacrest as he intro'd someone and behind him in the audience was Lee DeWyze and friends. He was not even acknowledged by Ryan! Lee rolled his eyes and had a scowl on his face. The people sitting with/around him were all frowning. It was VERY strange and kind of funny at the same time. WHAT was going on with AI I don't know. WHY would they diss Lee? I know why I would ;D but that's my opinion. Anybody?

Look at this : I am so excited. I have wanted to get this out and have been working on it for so long. I am a country artist but I am definitely a little more edgy and there is a lot of guitar playing. I am playing lead guitar on the record and so there is a lot of up-tempo stuff and it is definitely rocking but it is also just some great country songs. I am excited for people to purchase the album and tell me what they think. It is definitely country but I think my guitar playing and my voice makes it sound a little different. It is edgier. It is more like southern rock at times, and has some blues at times, but I have always loved Travis Tritt so it has a bit of that style to it but definitely still country Sounds familiar ?! www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E0NNCJzU20
