In honor of Casey's mom, Debra, and her twitter posts tonight, here is the RFTD: BybeeDJames bybeedjames · 1h1 hour ago My heart is heavy for any artist who is rejected & unappreciated because they think out of the box. God bless them all. God bless Casey. ?? BybeeDJames bybeedjames · 1h1 hour ago This has to happen not only for Casey's sake, but for every other person who has real talent. Those who want to just sing about partying. BybeeDJames bybeedjames · 3h3 hours ago Friends until your local radio station knows you're tired of the same worn out song formula- no one fresh & talented will ever have a chance

She could know some thing we don't, but I still think he has a chance to chart on MB Sunday night. That might get this going. The tweets above don't sound ominous when you put them all together, but the rejected and unappreciated one on it's own is worrisome.

I think it is pretty obvious why she posted them. I suspect he will be off the Sony site soon.

Yeah, you gotta really wonder if he's been dropped. I hat finding out this way if it is true! I really think they could push this song right now and it would get on and stay on the chart for a while. The timing is so weird. Why now, when he's he's got a chance to move up. I don't understand. At all. If this is true, it can't be just because of FA. They just must not like the album at all. I think that if there aren't ANY adds again on Monday it's true. If it is true, it will be a long time until he gets another deal if he gets one at all. Maybe Gary Overton resurfaces somewhere and signs him again?

He is still on songs website.
Casey doesn't seem like the type to go after another deal. Big or small. Some of this is his fault for not taking advantage of the TS tour. He will probably fade away. If he wants to record stuff like the horrible living or dying he won't have me buying his music.

Maybe Gary Overton resurfaces somewhere and signs him again? I'm guessing he's been dropped. Not necessarily a bad thing longterm, since Sony never really successfully promoted him anyway. He may be better off somewhere else. A lot of artists sell as well as or better than Casey off of small labels. But much as I love Casey and Debra, I don't think the issue is one of artistic freedom. Still, if this means he'll start taking chances and working some more blues into his stuff, as well as making an album with a little more depth thematically, I'll be pretty happy. He has enough name recognition that I feel confident that he will land somewhere. It'll be interesting to see where that is.

I don't think Casey will want to land anywhere. He is still on the Sony site so maybe Debra was just frustrated about something else. I agree this isn't about artistic freedom. They didn't release the songs that are the best and showcased Casey. Drive was a no brainer after the success of coas. I hate living or dying. I think it is awful and a bunch of noise. I won't be buying if he is dropped and that is what he does. Drive showcased who Casey is but Sony was to chicken to release it. These labels are so stupid because artists would have so much more success if they were able to really showcase who they are. And Casey took a break at the worse time after the TS tour. He had two years to write and find songs and he didn't. He should of been ready after good life failed. Or better yet drive should of been released.

I was just thinking. Would they really drop anyone until the new CEO is named. Wouldn't changes come after that.

Michelle I think your post on pulse wasn't quite right. Debra's tweet never said anything about Casey being rejected by his label.

I loved "Cryin on a Suitcase" from the first time I heard it. It took some time to like Fall Apart and though it is good, it is not good enough. I wish he could sing songs like Satisfied and Gravity-- I loved those. I wrote songs, sometimes with a cowriter, for about 11 years and belonged to the Austin Songwriter's Group. Once a year we had a Songwriter's Convention with people from Nashville critiqing our songs and I had a lot of good comments on mine. A publisher had a couple for several years and pitched them to Nashville singers. Wish I had sent Casey a couple of them just to see if he would like them, but just didn't get around to it. Several years ago I quit writing because of the "politics" in Nashville. Outsiders just didn't have a chance. Wish a couple of the people on this blog could listen to a few of them, but guess I am beyond getting back in the thick of things. I had professional demos made of the best ones. Wishful thinking

Michelle I think your post on pulse wasn't quite right. Debra's tweet never said anything about Casey being rejected by his label. No it did not but that was my interpretation. Dead on with your other post re: Drive Casey would he in a whole different place right now had they released it as a single. I pers on ally hope he pitches it to the new label head. Remix it and get it out there. It's the best he has and SO Casey.
