Round 2 of the American Idol contest to see what performance will be deemed the best ever is underway. Casey knocked out Lee in the first round, but we all knew that the next round would be critical as he would be going up against David Cook. Casey's exceptional performance of Jealous Guy is well behind Cook's entry in the competition. Unlike Idol, there is no unlimited voting...so we need everyone to participate. Here is the link. www.tvline.com/2011/05/greatest-idol-performance-blake-lewis-bo-bice-elliott-yamin-ruben-studdard/ You can vote multiple times if you have multiple ISP locations (for example, I voted on IE and on AOL). You may also be able to vote each day. Also, feel free to offer a comment in support of Casey's performances on the page below the votes!

I voted! I think that we can vote one time a day. This one will definitely be tough against David Cook!

Casey doesn't stand a chance against Cookie, he just doesn't have that many fans. But atleast these are not that type of polls where you can vote as often as you like. It always baffles me that people would use those types of polls with idol fans.

Yahoo Music | Reality Rocks : The Top 10 'American Idol' Performances Of All Time!10. Casey James - "Jealous Guy"True "wow moments" were sadly few and far between on Season 9, what was arguably the most disappointing season in "Idol" history. But on Lennon & McCartney Night, eventual third-place contestant Casey's emotional rendition of John Lennon's dark and desperate "Jealous Guy" was unexpectedly magical. His voice, possibly due to an authentic lump in his throat, took on a gruff, Eddie Vedder-esque quality during his raw performance, and he seemed genuinely choked up. And so were viewers, by the song's end.

Casey James playing his way back home . Sony Nashville recording artist and 2010 'American Idol' sensation on tour that will bring him to Fort Worth July 1 ( via Mineral Wells Index ) . Local Casey James fans will be happy to hear that their aural drought – of hearing him perform live – can soon come to an end.
James was in the national spotlight on “American Idol,” and on many local televisions, a year ago. According to mom, Debra James, Casey James will be back performing in his first hometown, post-Idol gig on July 1 at Billy Bob’s Texas in Fort Worth.
Tickets went on sale Monday and are going fast.
James said her son has been opening for Sugarland and working on his CD with Sony Nashville and various writers, with hopes for a CD coming out in late summer or the fall.
His July 1 concert in Fort Worth will likely include original music, according to Debra James, including songs that might be on Casey’s forthcoming CD.
She said songs like “Bulletproof” – which he cowrote with Delbert McClinton – “Show Me a Bridge” and “Drive” have been popular on her son’s tour with Sugarland.
While on tour, Casey has written a song with Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, according to Debra James. For more updates on the former “American Idol” contestant, she suggests fans visit thecaseyjamesblog.com or www.sonymusicnashville.com/artists/casey-james.

Casey Media Mentions — USAToday, AmericanIdol.com and The Country Site
Casey was mentioned today in two separate articles on USAToday.com. In the first, “Tuesday Tidbit,” writer Brian Mansfield, who linked to the Happy Birthday post on our blog, said:
• According to Casey James’ mother, last season’s third-place finisher has written tunes with Delbert McClinton and Sugarland’s Kristian Bush . Casey’s currently working on his debut album for Sony Nashville. And, oh yeah, it’s Casey’s 29th birthday today! Check out some childhood birthday pictures here.
The second was a “Where are they now?” piece on the top 12 of American Idol Season 9. For Casey, the writer said:
Casey James, who like Bowersox will appear next weekend at CMA Music Fest in Nashville, has signed with Sony Nashville and plans to play guitar on every track of his first album.
Casey was also mentioned today in the American Idol alumni news section on their AmericanIdol.com website . American Idol wished Casey a Happy Birthday and provided a nice write up of what Casey is doing now including touring and working on his upcoming Sony/BNA record. This was part of what the article had to say about Casey:
Time after time, the judges complimented Casey James on his outstanding guitar playing and on his honest vocals.
Finally, our friends over at Today’s Best Country Music Videos and The Country Site each had a nice Happy Birthday post for Casey’s 29th and linked to our post.
