Remember someone saying they heard Casey rockin' the house just before he left for the hometown visit, implying Casey was practicing for one of his songs, then that was changed (according to the someone)? Something was up, at least from my read of Casey's demeanor, which was way off from his usual. That could have been from his read of the inevitability of Lee and Crystal in the top two or maybe the lame Daughters choice (IMHO) OR a last-minute switch. Will we ever know?

I found a real treasure -- an article written about Casey back in late 2001. Casey and his mom Debra were interviewed by the Star-Telegram when Casey was just 19. There's a picture of the two of them from back then -- Debra said the shirt she was wearing had the twin towers on it, as a remembrance of what had happened just few months earlier. Check out what I learned here: thecaseyjamesblog.com/2011/06/29/casey-james-star-telegram-article-from-2001/

That is a cool interview. I thought a honkeytonk that could pack 6000 seemed a little to much lol. but 1100 is still great.

A couple of things:
If the country stations around here played R&B I'd listen ALL the time! Wonder what he meant by that? His musical influences - I guess I expected some edgy folks in the mix, though they're all awesome:) Curious who are his blues influences, besides BBII. When he does Georgia, (especially with AJ Raphael) it's SO gritty and close-to-the-earth..Just curious who took him "there?" As for the whole Jealous Guy experience, sounds like divine inspiration And it turned out just that - divine. Cool interview.Casey seems to be letting the public in more, like this interview, for example, and with his vocals/guitar skills/rapport with the audience - LOVE it! Like he's worked through some inhibition of sorts. Whatever - yay, tho!!

I can explain the r and b.A lot of Billy curringtons soul stuff has some r and b influences in it. Like let me down easy or Must be doing something right. Not todays r and b but what you would consider maybe older
