Shari, you refer to a "teaser video" for Drive - did I miss something? There was a short recording of Casey doing drive in the studio, but I cant find it now unfortunately.

My vote goes to Show Me a Bridge of all the new songs we've heard Casey sing so far...it's got Country appeal with a bluesy overtone and would do well as a crossover song, too.
In my heart, tho, I tend to believe we haven't heard the song that will be the single yet.

^^^ I agree with you about the single choice!! I'm thinking , if the single is a song we havn't heard about it so far , it could be something on the same vein as "Drive" . ;D

I hope its I Lied thats a good one. Hi ;D & WELCOME! Yes! I like it too! IDK if it's a single material or not! I guess we shall see after hearing the final mixing & production! when all is said & done! That's true! It could sound entirely different after being recorded & we've only heard it done accousticly. Is that a word? ;D

Perhaps someone with some Casey connections can shed some more light on this?

I figured a single would be early fall. But if this fall thing is true it sounds for like late fall if Feb is true. Remember this could of been someone at sony that wasnt that high up and isnt really in the loop. It takes a good 3 months after the artwork is done to get the cd to stores so I figured fall for a single but Feb seems like a stretch. Casey has debuted so many great songs he is ready.

Here is my take on this ( copying & pasting from other place b/c I'm so damn tired/ busy ) : QUOTE: I 'd think Sonyand Overton would want and need to start getting a return on their investment sooner than later. Otherwise this whole recording project begins to take on either A - a preciousness, or B - sense of caution on the part of the label, that, either way, creates consumer doubt and a perceptual/image problem for Casey, his music, and his management Why would they they want to "return to their investment" if they ARE investing ? but who is the "consumer" ? us ? definitely not! his music will appeal to the "masses" if it clicks with them , since he hasn't released a material to them , I don't know how they'll get a "doubt" about something they hadn't heard yet . Not investing is completely the opposite from this , not investing means no more collaborations & gigging . QUOTE : If the rumor is confirmed, it would look way more likely to me that the label doesn't know what to do with Casey and his music ; That would be only true , IF they're not getting him the exposure with these gigs , most recently the LP Field slot , They would give it to someone like Kellie Pickler who just released a single after one year absence & need that kind of exposure , not for Casey . Casey is the type of artist who giging will add to his "credibility" so he needs it ! Seems they're doing fairly well with that . QUOTE : and was hoping all his gigging Country venues and co-writing Country material would make something gel and establish a signature sound that fits the market "establishing sound" only comes from radio play , & how the single will fair on the radio which remains to be seen . QUOTE : they have doubts about either the quality of the writing, or the ability to record and successfully market it to Country radio and fans This is why it takes testing several songs to get the right one to radio . it's not a new thing . Don't worry about their "ability" , they're a major label after all , they can promote the crap . I don't think there is a "delay" , because there wasn't originally a date . I don't have an issue with the single date ( assuming the "rumor" is true ) , not sure about the album date because labels don't actually make a date for album release till they see what's gonna happen with the single . but they can make a minimum & maximum projections . They can release a single on late auguest / early september with the right song & "hype" , it can jump so quickly like Carrie's JTTW . If so , they can release the album during the holidays . which already was the prediction for it . It maybe be a little "upseting" for fans to wait , but Casey isn't the first artist in the world to do that . The Band Perry got signed on 2008 , they released their album on Fall 2010 , after 2 singles & EP . The same with Thompson Square , who got signed on 2009 & they released their album last February ( 2011 ) after releasing 2 singles . As long as the Amos Lee collaboration , Randy Owen & the rest are on the album , I'm all for it I'd like to know who is that exec. & what kind of exec. !! because they're all execs. but there are huge differences . HA! Only the A&R exec from BNA who can determine a release date(s) along with the PR department . the A&R exec, who works directly with an artist is very important . A&R mission is choosing the direction & sound of the album , booking the writing & recording sessions , choosing songwriters ..... etc. and along with the artist & management they can choose what to make the album , after that they can make a "plan" to release the "product" .

Apparently that person is saying they think it was a sony exec. Anyways the people at bna are the ones who are going to know anything. I really hate things like this because I know how people think they are passing on good helpful info but they dont have or tell the entire story. for we now that person said it could be or something liek that.
Bottom line he is still in the process of making the cd right. This amos Lee thing could prove to be soemthing special and if he would of already put out a album that may not of happened. They are going to do this right with the first album and not have to work up to getting it right by the third cd.
